Though you will find that the society in Warsaw is mixed when it comes to gay tolerance, you will also find that the atmosphere is changing.  In fact it is becoming much easier to spot gay friendly places in Warsaw or Warsaw gay bars than it used to be.  Back in the old regime, the gay lifestyle and community were all underground, and Warsaw gay bars were simply unheard, or unspoken of.  Today, you will not have a difficult time locating gay friendly businesses or Warsaw gay bars, as many of them will display a rainbow flag even in their window shops.

One example is the Tomba Tomba club in the Old Town, which recently has become very popular and not only with gays and lesbians.   Many people tout Tomba Tomba as one of the best Warsaw gay bars, and one where you can indulge yourself for a few hours in the pleasant company of smiling people.

Be warned however of the meaning of the rainbow flag that you may see in Warsaw.  The gay-friendly tag does not mean one of these Warsaw gay bars is for gay people only. It only indicates that the staff and customers are tolerant people. Owners of some clubs have publicized a gay-friendly atmosphere themselves.
